Why propane prices vary from one dealer to another
Propane dealers operate in a competitive marketplace, and prices vary from company to company. Transportation costs cause some of the difference from one area to another.
American River Gas is a full-service company. We provide trained service technicians, consumer safety programs, and 24-hour, seven-day-a-week service through our office and answering service. Offering that peace of mind has costs, so you may sometimes notice a price difference between our propane and a company that offers fewer services. Some companies only sell propane. Choose the level of service that suits your needs.
What comes with a full-service account
- Tanks set, underground lines run and regulators installed by American River Gas
- Leak checks and pressure tests for new systems, new customers, new appliances and any interruption in service
- Tank maintenance and appliance conversions for customers
- Keep Full automatic delivery, scheduled from the weather and your use
- If you run out on Keep Full with the account in good standing, no charge for the leak test or special trip (certain restrictions apply)
- Office staff during business hours, and an answering service that reaches our staff after hours, weekends and holidays
- Budget Plan, autopay and online account access

Can I switch to American River Gas from another company?
Yes. Open an account and we will explain the steps, including setting one of our tanks or filling a tank you own, and the required leak check before the first fill.
