Penryn granite went into the State Capitol and the San Francisco Mint. The old quarry is now Griffith Quarry Park, California Historical Landmark No. 885. Today Penryn is a small community at about 630 feet, just off I-80 between Loomis and Newcastle, with homes spread along Penryn Road, English Colony Way and Taylor Road. ## Penryn's propane picture The 95663 ZIP area has 1,155 households, and 389 of them, about 34%, heat with propane. About 26% use utility gas. Inside the Penryn CDP the propane share is only 7.8%, so nearly all of the propane homes are outside the town center, on rural lots and hillside homesites. ## Close-in delivery Penryn is practically our neighbor, about 9 minutes from the yard. With Keep Full, we schedule each fill from temperatures and usage. If you would rather order yourself, call when the gauge reads about 30%; we usually deliver within a week on the route day. Commercial accounts and small agricultural users in Penryn are welcome too. We deliver to businesses, orchards and farm shops as well as homes. ## Installing tanks and lines on Penryn lots Penryn was built on granite, and foothill lots can be rocky. We plan the tank location and the underground line route with that in mind, set tanks by crane, leased or customer-owned, install regulators and pressure test the whole system before the first fill. ## Tank sizes, leased or owned The right tank depends on what it feeds. A home that only runs a range and a fireplace needs far less storage than one that heats the house and runs a water heater. We size the tank to your appliances, and you can lease it from us or own it yourself. Every new tank is set by crane on a proper base, with the regulator installed and the system pressure tested. Already have a tank from another company? Call us. If you own it, we can fill it after a leak check. If it is leased, we can set one of ours. ## PG&E shutoffs PG&E can shut off power in high fire-risk weather through Public Safety Power Shutoffs. Keep Full automatic delivery keeps the tank topped up, so a propane fireplace or wall heater that runs without power still has fuel. ## Refills, moving in, safety Our cylinder dispenser at 10290 Ophir Road is about nine minutes from Penryn. Bring barbecue and RV tanks on weekdays, 8:00 to 4:30, closed noon to 1:00. Buying a Penryn property? Ask whether the propane tank is leased or owned, then call us to open an account; we check for leaks before the first delivery. If you smell gas, leave the building first, then call 911 and us from outside.
